Brief positioning of project
The concept of the project provides creation in Karachai-Cherkessia an all-weather tourist recreational complex of the world class combining winter and summer types of tourism by 2017. The project of creation of a world class mountain resort for 25 thousand visitors is being implemented by ZAO Sinara Group (Ekaterinburg) jointly with the Government of Karachai-Cherkessia. The project operator is OAO Arkhyz-Sinara. The urban planning concept developer is French consortium Gorimpex Sarl, DIANEIGE, DGA, BDO MG Hotels and Tourisme. Arkhyz all-weather mountain resort will be situated on the territory of Arkhyz gorge with the area about 16 thousand hectares and will consist of 4 tourist complexes. Development of recreational infrastructure of the resort: • A network of 69 ski lifts and cableways will form an interconnected transport system of the resort with capacity of 140 persons per hour. • Mountain-ski lines of various complexity with total extent about 278 km. • Artificial snow system. • A wide network of public catering, trade and consumer services. • A medical and recreational complex including balneal and spa centers, medical aid stations, a hospital. • Theme area decoration: skating rink, springboards, ski stadium, areas for snowboard, freestyle and freeride, swimming pool, children's playgrounds, botanical garden. • Leisure organization: entertaining centers, excursion bike and hiking routes, a museum complex, a center of national crafts. Project implementation stages: 2007: planning concept development 2008: designing start of construction of the first tourist complex 2010: launch of the first stage of the 1st village 2017: full capacity Estimated cost is about 78 billion rubles.
