The General Motors Company set up the plant in Shushara town (Leningrad Oblast). On the first stage Chevrolet Captiva and Opel Antara will be in production on the factory. In the middle of 2009 the factory is planning to start Chevrolet Cruze producing. To the end of 2009 the plant will reach the complete production volumes – 75 cars in a year. Initially the production capacity was scheduled on the level of 30 000 cars in a year. Investments in the construction are estimated on 300 million USD. At present time there are 10 GM plants in seven European countries.
