Tver Region at MIPIM 2008

Tver Region is one of the largest regions in Central part of Russia. One of its strengths is location between two largest Russian megapolises Moscow and Sent - Petersburg. Tver Oblast is situated on the crossroads of major arterial ways: motor, rail and water transport ways, electricity transmission lines, gas-pipe lines. The population of Tver Oblast is about 1,5 mln. people.


Nowadays one of the most priority directions of Tver Oblast investment support is creation of industrial zones. It's a special type of the territory, aimed for zoned location of industrial enterprises, which gain easy access to the land, industrial facilities, engineering and transport infrastructure, basic services.

Usually industrial zone is administered by management (development) company, which is charged with support of the industrial zone functioning and search of new resident-renters

Creation of industrial zones leads to speed-up of economic and social development, stimulates increase of regional economic growth, quality of life, welfare.

It's planned to create system of investment areas ready for locating of industrial and logistics enterprises. These areas combine optimum employment of land, energy, labour, and finance resources. The system of industrial areas includes:
  • industrial zone «Redkino»
  • industrial zone «Borovlevo»
  • industrial zone «Technopark Kimry»
  • industrial zone «Rzhev»
  • industrial zone «Torzhok».
Creation of industrial zone «Redkino» of 60 hectares has proved efficiency of this investment politics. Some companies-residents set up today: «Ahlstrom» (Finland, fibber tissues), «Vergocan» (Belgium, engineering), «TECO» (Belgium,. construction materials), «ÎÌÍÈÏÀÊ» (pulp and paper). Total investment is about 2,5 billion rubles, 500 new places of work will be created.

The most outstanding projects of 2007 is launching of commercial and industrial zones «Borovlevo-1» and «Borovlevo-2» with total investment of 8- billion rubles. Now 11 companies-residents confirmed intention to locate enterprises at these zones and began design construction work.

Tver Oblast Administration succeeded in creation of favorable investment climate for enterprises, not only for industrial zone residents. Confirmation of this fact is realization of more than 40 projects in Tver Oblast. Among large business partners in Tver Oblast there are such foreign investors as concern «Shell», company Arcelor MITTAL International Russia.


It's the second time when Tver Oblast participates in MIPIM. Exposition of Tver Oblast is located in pavilion Gare Maritime and represents as a demonstration model of the unique project 'Tver Drama theatre reconstruction" and also information on four investment projects:
The unique project "Tver Drama theatre reconstruction" is aimed on creation. of cultural centre in the very city centre which allows to receive increasing number of visitors as an accessible place of leisure and spending different cultural events.

The project aim is the existing theatre restoration and at the same time leaving its historical appearance, renovation of all block by clearing courtyard from numerous useless constructions and also by creation a new hemispherical building in it connected with historical building by atrium.

An existing theatre reconstruction and its new annex in the courtyard will not be visible a lot for those who are in public zone near by the theatre. This reconstruction will be an example of vicinity of two architectural directions: historical building restoration and modern architectural work.

The project budget is 2 billion rubles 40 % of which are internal funds and 60% are investments.
It is planned to sign an agreement with Norman Asset Management at MIPIM 2008.

Norman Asset Management plans to launch a project of industrial zone creation in Tver region on the plot of 75 hectare on the territory of Kalinin municipal district. The Governor of Tver region Dmitry Zelenin and NAM! Director Mark Wrong will take part in this event. Project "Tver Drama theatre reconstruction"


The unique project "Tver Drama theatre reconstruction" is aimed on creation of cultural centre in the very city centre which allows to receive increasing number of visitors as an accessible place of leisure and spending different cultural events.

The project initiator is Tver region Administration under support of Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography of Russian Federation. The project purpose is providing of cultural and historical heritage safety, tourist infrastructure improvement and increasing of regional investment attractiveness.

The project is supported by Tver region Administration at several directions: administrative, financial, information, PR, mass-media. Duration of a project - 2012. The project is worked out by Fabre/Speller bureau (France).

The project aim is the Tver Drama theatre building - which is an architectural monument - restoration and at the same time leaving its historical appearance, renovation of all block by clearing courtyard from numerous useless constructions. They will be replaced by a new hemispherical building connected with historical building by atrium.

The program of Tver Drama theatre renovation provides numerous halls of the following capacity:
  • restored historical hall - 650 seats
  • new multifunctional hall - 800 seats
  • low stage in new experimental theatre - 180 seats
  • big arched hall in historical lobby - 400 seats
  • cabaret-hall (under historical hall) - 120 seats
  • new cinema hall - 150 seats
  • new rehearsal hall (under dome) - 100 seats
Total capacity - 2400 seals
An existing theatre reconstruction and its new annex in the courtyard will not be visible a lot for those who are in public zone near by the theatre. The stage box tour in tne corner of historical building will be the only place with visible traces of reconstruction because of panoramic bar creation which makes the tour 6 meters higher. There will be a wonderful city view from the bar hall-window, and illuminated from inside it will become a light centre and attract attention to the theatre building at dark time. This reconstruction will be an example of vicinity of two architectural directors: historical building restoration and modern architectural work.
